Elizabeth I sends an army to France, under the command of Robert Earl of Essex, to support Henry IV in his attempt to besiege Rouen. Having been declared the heir to the throne by Henry III on his deathbed in 1589, the Protestant Henry of Navarre is now battling against his staunch opponents, the Catholic League.
