Power relations in the French Wars of Religion change once again, in the wake of the King's assassination of Duke of Guise, leader of the Catholic League. Henry III had previously attempted to ally with the League in opposition to the Huguenot Henry of Navarre, but now these two men sign a truce. They meet outside Tours on 30th April, and agree to jointly oppose the aims of the Catholic League.
