Elizabeth I is crowned Queen of England in Westminster Abbey. Festivities included a grand procession of five pageants, emphasising the ways in which Elizabeth would be superior to her precedessor Mary, such as in her English genealogy and her virtues in opposition to superstition and ignorance.
