Sir Thomas Wyatt, who had been involved in the attempt to place
Lady Jane Grey on the English throne, had provoked a rebellion to
try to prevent Queen Mary's marriage to Philip II of Spain. His
rebel force marched from Kent to London, but was definitively
defeated on 9th February He now undergoes a trial, and is executed
on 11th April.
