Under the new reign of Queen Mary I, several key figures from Edward VI's circle are tried for treason. They include those who tried to divert the succession, namely Lady Jane Grey and her husband Lord Guildford Dudley, and those who promoted the Protestant Reformation, such as Archbishop Thomas Cranmer.
