The Prayer Book rebellion that broke out earlier in the summer arose in two focal locations, and as well as the rising in the west country, there was an equivalent rising in East Anglia. These rebels, under the leadership of Robert Kett, were finally quashed by an army under John Dudley, Earl of Warwick, at the Battle of Dussindale, near Norwich.
