The English Parliament meets, sitting until 28th March. It recognises, in succession after Prince Edward, the Princesses Mary and Elizabeth as heirs to the English throne. This overturns previous Acts of Succession passed by the English Parliament in the preceding decade (1534 and 1536), which had excluded from the inheritance respectively the children of Catherine of Aragon and Anne Boleyn.
