Henry VIII marries Katherine Howard, the niece of his new chief minister the Duke of Norfolk. She is much younger than him, at 16 to his 42 years, and reckless in her behaviour. Within two years of the wedding, she faced charges of treason, accused of infidelity, and is executed on 13th February 1542.
