Prominent members of the English court are sentenced to death for treason. They include the brothers of Cardinal Reginald Pole (Sir Geoffrey of Lordington and Henry, Lord Montague), and Henry Courtenay, Marquess of Exeter. Courtenay is actually next in succession to the English throne, if Henry VIII should die without an heir, and thus poses quite a threat to Henry's sense of security.
