Jurgen Wullenwever, Burgomaster of Lubeck, is executed. After the death of Danish king Frederick I, he had seized the opportunity to attempt to renew the fading fortunes of the Hanseatic city, waging an ultimately unsuccessful war against Denmark, Sweden and the Netherlands.
