The era of Hanseatic domination of the Baltic is ended when the army of Lubeck is defeated by a Danish-Swedish force near Assens on the Danish island of Fünen, and when subsequently, the Danish king Christian II defeats Lubeck's navy off Bornholm. Fünen and Seeland surrender to the Scandinavian allies.
