Henry VIII's ex-chief minister Cardinal Wolsey, who had left London to retire to his archbishopric of York in the wake of his downfall, is arrested as a traitor and forced to retrace his steps back towards London. It is while on this arduous journey that he is to meet his death, at Leicester on 29th November.
