At a conference at Calais presided over by Cardinal Wolsey, Francis I of France and Holy Roman Emporer Charles V dispute their respective claims to Milan, Burgundy and Navarre. As a means of gaining some leverage over English diplomacy, Francis I allows the pro-French Duke of Albany to return to Scotland.
