Pope Julius II leaves the League of Cambria, and on 24th Februar, enacts a complete diplomatic turnaround and absolves Venice from excommunication, instead forming an alliance with the state. In return, Venice grants free navigation in the Gulf of Venice to subjects of the papal states and restores to the Pope all ecclesiastical rights in the Republic.
