Ferdinand I of Aragon signs the Treaty of Salamanca. This has become necessary in the wake of the death of his wife, Isabella of Castile, in November 1504. Under the terms of this agreement, Ferdinand undertakes to share power with his daughter Juana and her husband Philip the Handsome of Burgundy.
