France and Spain sign the Treaty of Lyon. It forces Louis XII to cede Naples to Ferdinand of Aragon. This treaty was confirmed on 31st March, and Naples was to remain under Spanish control until 1713, when it passed to the control of Austria in the War of the Spanish Succession.
