Louis XII of France and Ferdinand of Aragon sign a secret treaty of Granada for the conquest and partition of Naples. According to its terms, France is to possess the Abruzzi, the Terra di Luvoro, Naples and Gaeta, while Spain gains Apulia and Calabria. Pope Alexander VI ratifies this treaty in June 1501.
