Perkin Warbeck is tried for treason. Although most probably Flemish in origin, Warbeck had claimed to be Richard of Shrewsbury, 1st Duke of York, the younger son of Edward IV, who was imprisoned in the Tower along with his brother Edward V under the kingship of Richard III. As a result, he was the focus of Yorkist conspiracies for almost a decade, and made several invasion attempts with the assistance of the Burgundian and Scottish courts.
