Ferdinand of Austria and Suleiman I of Turkey sign a peace treaty. Ferdinand is to retain the portion of Hungary in his hands, while Zápolya is to remain King of the rest of the territory; both are to pay tribute to the Porte. Suleiman is to have the right to sanction future arrangements about Hungary. The peace does not include the Emperor Charles V, who continues warfare against the Turks in the Mediterranean.
