Berto Zambonini dedicated himself to a vast range of activities: as a sculptor, painter, writer, poet, and luthier, but also a techincal designer, carpenter, mason, tailor, and hairdresser. A proponent and protagonist of the epic maggio tradition of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines, he was a maggerino (singer-actor), inventor of props, and author of three maggi: Paris e Vienna, I due gemelli, and Carlo Magno.
