Lorna Jean Crozier was born 24 May 1948 in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, where she lived with her parents and brother until graduating from high school. She moved to Saskatoon to earn a BA from the University of Saskatchewan in 1969, gained her teaching certificate, and returned to Swift Current where she taught high school English and served as a guidance counsellor. In the 1970s she began to write poetry. Unlike many other Canadian writers, Crozier remained loyal to her chosen genre, building a future in which her life and career revolve around a central core of poetry. Her poetics involve a feminist sensibility, a commitment to community, a philosophy that encompasses both western and eastern ideals, a spiritual questing coupled …
