Françoise Loranger (1913 – 1995) is best known as an innovative and influential playwright in the 1960s, but her career as a writer of fiction, dramas for radio and television, and dramatic literature spanned more than three decades. She was the first woman in Québec to produce radio plays and to earn her living as a writer and producer for media and stage. She was one of the pioneers responsible for creating the unique dramatic forms and theatrical languages that still characterise the stage and popular media in Québec.
