During the first half of the 20th century her short fiction appeared under several pseudonyms in major British and American magazines, including Pearson's, The London Magazine, Collier's, Harper's, and The Woman's Home Companion. In addition, she published novels (historical, romance, supernatural), biographies and other nonfiction, plays, an autobiography, and children's literature.
