Isabella Mary Mayson Beeton is primarily known for her work as author and editor of the widely influential 1861 domestic manual Beeton’s Book of Household Management. Before her untimely death at age 28, she also worked as an editor, translator, and columnist at two secular women’s magazines, The Englishwoman’s Domestic Magazine and The Queen.
