Trying to offer a brief biographical sketch of the Protestant reformer Philipp Melanchthon might not be too difficult despite his many moves around, church activities, writings, teaching positions, meetings, and negotiations, but to summarize succinctly his theological standpoints (several), his philosophical and humanistic approaches and methodologies, and above all his scholastic writing, represents a true challenge. We could today identify his approach as interdisciplinary, despite his focus on philology (Greek) and theology.
