Jane, sometimes listed as Joan or Joanna, Lumley (neé Fitzalan) (1537–1578) was the daughter of Henry Fitzalan, the twelfth earl of Arundel (1512–1580), and his first wife, Katherine Grey (d. 1542), daughter of Thomas Grey. Henry and Katherine Fitzalan had three surviving children, Jane, Henry (1538–1556), and Mary (1539/40–1557). Through their mother the Fitzalan children were first cousins to Jane Grey, the nine-day queen of England. Jane’s brother Henry met John Lumley at Cambridge and shortly after Lumley and Jane were married. It is documented that Jane and John Lumley attended the coronation of Mary Tudor in 1553.
