David Fennario, a Canadian playwright, was born in 1947 in the Montreal suburb of Verdun. His plays, many of which premiered at Centaur Theatre in Montreal, reflect his commitment to the working-class Anglophone suburb of Verdun-Pointe Saint Charles, where he grew up, and to revolutionary socialism. While a student at Dawson College, Montreal, he wrote a journal which was published by the college press under the name of Without a Parachute. It was subsequently reissued by a major Canadian publisher.
