A passionate voice for social justice for diasporic Asian writers and communities in the UK, Rukhsana Ahmad is a British-based writer of Pakistani origin who emerged as “a strong feminist British Asian voice in the 1980s” (Shamsie, 524). She is a playwright, short story writer, poet, and translator, and has produced works which span various genres.
