Maria Albertina Loschi represented the donna tipo tre (the third kind of woman), an independent and resolute woman differing from both the angel of the house and the femme fatale. She was determined to become a journalist and affirm her own convictions. Always interested in visiting new countries, she described these foreign lands faithfully for her readers while at the same time remaining proud of her Italianness.
