Kabelo Sello Duiker was born on 13 April 1974 in Orlando West in Soweto, Johannesburg, the eldest of three brothers, in a wealthy family. His father is well-known South African football player Judah Duiker. He attended the elite Redhill School as one of only two black children. Later, he also attended school in England when the family moved there as a result of his father obtaining work in an international company. After high school, Sello took a gap year and spent it working in rural France. Back in South Africa, he enrolled for a BA Degree in Journalism which he obtained from Rhodes University in Grahamstown. Politically conscious, he combined his search for post-Apartheid truth with a keen interest in writing and started a poetry …
