Brian Chikwava is a Zimbabwean writer, journalist, and musician currently living and working in London, UK. Born in 1972 in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, as the eldest of eight children, Chikwava had the benefit of a good education. His late father, a police officer, and his mother, a nurse, asked their son to set an example for his siblings by studying hard. They wanted Chikwava to become a doctor, but did not stop him from pursuing his interest in the arts. Very soon he became a regular at Harare’s Book Café and started experimenting with writing and music.
