Bahram Beyzaie (26 Dec 1938–) is an Iranian filmmaker, playwright, screenwriter and scholar. He currently resides in the United States where he is a Daryabari Visiting Professor of Iranian Studies at Stanford University and teaches Iranian cinema, theatre, myth and literature. Beyzaie has been an influential figure of the Iranian New Wave cinema. His works have been translated into many languages including English, French, Dutch, and Arabic and have won many awards and prizes in local and international film festivals, including the Fajr International Film Festival, the Cairo International Film Festival and the Chicago International Film Festival.
