As the author of three acclaimed novels, a collection of short stories and substantial academic publications, Chandani Lokugé makes a significant contribution to postcolonial literary research and creative writing, particularly in diaspora studies. After completing her Master of Arts at the University of Peradeniya in Sri Lanka, she moved to Australia in 1987 on a Commonwealth Scholarship to write her doctoral thesis at Flinders University on the pioneering of Indian women’s fiction and autobiography in English. Now, as Associate Professor in Literary Studies at Monash University, she seamlessly blends her creative and academic work to international acclaim.
