Sohrab Sepehri (1928-1980) is a notable modern Iranian poet and painter. He travelled to different countries to familiarize himself with various arts and philosophies, particularly Sufism and Far Eastern mysticisms, whose influence are evident in his works. The environmental ethics expressed in his poetry distinguish him not only in Persian poetry, but also in world literature in general.

Life and Works
