Shahriar Mandanipour is a prolific Iranian novelist, short story writer, essayist, children’s book author, and editor who has been a major force on the literary and cultural scene in Iran for decades. His ability to publish his politically critical writing has often been curtailed by government censorship under the Islamic Republic’s various leaders. His major international breakthrough came with the auto-fictional novel Censoring an Iranian Love Story (2009).
