Considered to be a national poet, a proactive editor, and one of the most eloquent disseminators of Quebec’s literature and culture, Gaston Miron was born on January 8, 1928 in Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts in the region of the Laurentides, Quebec. All his life and work were torn between activism and the search for a unique style and language.
Early Life
Miron grew up in his beloved region of the Laurentides, which at the time was considered a rough front of colonization going ever further north.
