Clara Viebig (1860-1952) is a German author who wrote novels, stories, and some plays in the style of Naturalism. In her own time, especially in the first two decades of the twentieth century, she was both nationally and internationally successful and her works were praised by critics and fellow writers alike. Today, however, she occupies only a marginal position in German literature.
Born in Trier in the Eifel region of Germany, she also spent time in Düsseldorf and the Rhineland, in the Province of Posen (now part of Poland), and in Berlin.
