Anne Cochran Wilkinson was a Canadian poet, prose writer, editor, and historian. She published two collections of poetry, Counterpoint to Sleep (1951) and The Hangman Ties the Holly (1955), a family history entitled Lions in the Way: A Discursive History of the Oslers (1956), and the modern fairy tale for children Swann and Daphne (1960). She also wrote drama, short stories, book reviews, and a body of life-writing that is collected in The Tightrope Walker: Autobiographical Writings of Anne Wilkinson (1992). She became literary editor of the short-lived little magazine here and now in 1949, and helped to found The Tamarack Review, which ran from 1956-82. She died in Toronto on May 10, …
