Jacques Roubaud, born in 1932, is a French poet, essayist, novelist and mathematician. He holds two doctorates, one on the experimental mathematics of the group Bourbaki, and one in French literature for which he wrote a dissertation called La forme du sonnet français de Marot à Malherbe.
