Andrée Chedid’s published work spans six decades; her reputation as a poet reached North American circles and universities in the 1980s. Three plays, four novels and multiple poems and short stories have been translated into English. Chedid’s work has been explored and celebrated by several colloquia, special issues of journals, a book of interviews, and a recent literary homage published as Andrée Chedid, je t’aime (2013), which includes a comprehensive bibliography as well as a chronology of her life.
