Born in 1955 in Sant’Elpidio al Mare, in the Marche region, Sebastiano Nata is an Italian author little known outside of his native country, whose importance lies in his having devoted his attention to the condition of man within the corporate world and the impact of that world on his social and emotional life. As such, Nata has contributed to the Italian literary gallery of the working world that authors such as Giovanni Arpino, Ottiero Ottieri, and Vasco Pratolini had previously populated with factory workers and masons. However, the Italian author of whom Nata can be seen as the clear descendant is Paolo Volponi, whose 1962 novel Memoriale [Memorial] inaugurated a series of works dedicated to the industrial world.
