The poet was born in Kyparissia of Messinia in the Peloponnese, on the 10th of July 1959. Ever since his childhood he would attend the Sunday school and compose poems. At the age of eight he joined the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Municipality of Kyparissia, thus being initiated into the world of music, which to him constituted a further artistic expression of his personality.
In the summer of 1970, his family moved to Athens, at Nea Philadelphia. There he joined the local Philharmonic Orchestra, started taking guitar lessons while, at the same time, at the local cultural centre of his municipality, he started taking in the first literary stimuli: poetry, ancient philosophers and ecclesiastical texts.
