Olga Tokarczuk’s novels are already considered classics of contemporary Polish literature, translated into many languages, and appearing in school curricula. Tokarczuk has mastered the art of storytelling, observing both microstructures such as villages and their inhabitants, as well as processes happening on a macro scale, across times and spaces. As a graduate in psychology, she does not hide her fascination with Carl Jung, and many of her novels are in fact a journey into the human subconscious, the world of dreams and myths, exploring different patterns of behavior.
