Mark Z. Danielewski was born in 1966 and currently lives in Los Angeles, USA. The son of the filmmaker Tad Danielewski, he thrived in a nomadic and intellectual family environment and began writing after a New Year's resolution, finishing his first book at the age of ten (Sims Bookpage March 2000). Danielewski's early aspirations to become a writer led to a degree in Literature at Yale University and an intensive course in Latin at Berkley. During his time at Yale he suffered rejections from all the writing seminars he applied to join.
