Wanda Balzano

Wanda Balzano is the Founding Chair of the Department of Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at Wake Forest University in North Carolina, where she teaches. She studied at the Istituto Universitario Orientale of Naples and then moved to Dublin, Ireland for her Master and Doctorate in Anglo-Irish Literature and Drama at University College, Dublin. Her publications, on women's writing, human rights, feminism and postmodernism in art and film have appeared in the United States and Europe. A book entitled The Veiled Subject: Women and Religion in Irish Literature, will be published by Irish Academic Press.
