Margaret Steffler

Margaret Steffler is a Professor in the Department of English Literature at Trent University in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. Her areas of research include Canadian women’s fiction and life writing, the construction of girlhood in Canadian and global narratives, and Canadian Mennonite/s Writing, particularly the work of Miriam Toews. She is active in L.M. Montgomery Studies and is the editor of P.K. Page’s Mexican Journal (Porcupine’s Quill, 2015) and Metamorphosis: Selected Children's Literature (Porcupine's Quill, 2020), Volumes 3 and 6 in The Collected Works of P.K. Page. In addition to publications on Montgomery, Page, and Toews, she has published on the work of Sylvia Fraser, Alice Munro, Carol Shields, Catharine Parr Traill, Susan Frances Harrison, Rudy Wiebe, David Bergen, and Al Purdy.
