Ellen Howley

Ellen Howley is a PhD candidate at the School of English, Dublin City University. Her research focuses on comparisons between Irish and Caribbean poetry with a particular interest in the role of the sea in the work of contemporary poets. Other research interests include postcolonialism, contemporary poetry and feminism. Ellen is the founder and current coordinator of the School of English postgraduate reading group. She has presented at conferences internationally and has published work in the Irish Literary Supplement and has forthcoming papers in The Journal of Commonwealth Literature and Irish Studies Review.
