Robyn Doty

Robyn Doty is a Masters student at the Goethe University Frankfurt in the Anglophone Literature, Culture, and Media program with an emphasis on transcultural studies and memory studies. She is writing her Masters Thesis on Cultural Memory, Digital and Social Media, and the Arab Spring and should be finished in December 2018.

Robyn Doty graduated with Honors from the University of Central Florida with a BA in English Literature and Language with a minor in Gender Studies and German.

She is also a published poet, writer, and artist. In 2015 her poems were published in the Belleview Park Pages and her art was featured in a group exhibition of Frankfurt artists at the Goethe University Frankfurt. In 2016 she collaborated with BOHL and dancers Frances Chiaverini and Katja Cheranova and editorial photographer Nadine Fraczkowski to make Scary Piece a multi-disciplinary work that includes short films, a book, and a performance piece. The group was provided a residency from PACT and was funded and supported by Stadt Frankfurt and Lichter Filmfest Frankfurt International. In 2017 she was the poet and dramaturge for Roderick George’s knoname artist dance company’s piece Fleshless Beast which toured dance festivals throughout Europe and the US. She and Frances Chiaverini co-founded Whistle While You Work , a platform to empower dancers and performance artists and to work against discrimination and sexual harassment. In 2018, she attended the Artist Summit at the 2018 Tanz Platform and created the playable art piece Cards Against Contemporary Dance , which premiered at PACT in Essen, Germany.
