Biography: Dr. Ana Cruz García, Dept. Marketing and
International Business, Cork Institute of Technology, Cork,
Ireland
BA (University of Granada, Spain), BBus (CIT), MA (NUI, UCC),
PhD (NUI, UCC)
I completed a BA in English at the University of Granada, Spain
in 1999. In 2001 I graduated from UCC with an MA and in 2007 with a
PhD in the field of Latin American literature and Women Studies. In
UCC I was a member of the Dept. of Spanish, Portuguese and Latin
American Studies until 2008 and I have published on the topic of
Women Writing (mainly my book that can be translated as
(De)generating identities: The Figure of the Madwomen in Women
Writing in Mexico )
Since 2007 I am a lecturer in Spanish in the Dept. of Marketing
and International Business in CIT where I completed a BBus in 2013.
In CIT I’m an active researcher for the Hincks Centre for
Entrepreneurship Excellence, particularly interested in the
projects on female entrepreneurship. With Hincks I’m currently
researching the reality of the “forgotten entrepreneur” in Ireland,
particularly the childminding profession, the impact of their work
in their personal lives, the lives of the children’s parents and
society in general.
My current research interests include language and cultures, gender studies, artistic visual representations (mainly cinema) and business (particularly entrepreneurship and international business)
