Diego De Brasi

Diego De Brasi studied Classics and Italian Philology at the University of Turin (Italy) and Fribourg (Switzerland) and received his PhD in Greek Philology from the University of Bamberg (Germany) with a dissertation on the depiction of Sparta in Plato's dialogues (published in 2013 as L'immagine di Sparta nei dialoghi di Platone. Il giudizio di un filosofo su una (presunta) pólis modello. Sankt Augustin> Academia Verlag. 2013). Since 2011 he has been assistant professor of Classics at the University of Marburg. In 2015/16 he has been Residential Fellow at the Notre Dame Institute for Advanced Study and Feodor-Lynen Fellow at the Program of Liberal Studies of the University of Notre Dame du Lac (US). He is currently working on a monograph on Christian late antique interpretations of the mind-body relationship. His research interests are: Plato's philosophy and political thought as well as the literary form of the philosophical dialogue; Philo of Alexandria; the relationship between Neoplatonism and Christianity; ancient biology; the relationship between poetry and philosophy.
